She graduated valedictorian from Stella High School in 1946 and was active in plays and a cheerleader. She went to college at Joplin Junior College where she met her husband Robert Woodard. They moved to Vinita, OK, where her only child, Michael Woodard was born. After they moved to Webb City, she worked at Federal Reserve Life Insurance in Joplin. She and her son later moved to Neosho, Missouri. She worked at Rocketdyne as a successful Quality Control Secretary. In the early 1970’s she transferred to North American Rockwell in Tulsa, OK, as an Administrative Assistant until she retired from Boeing in 1994. Her passions in life were dancing, singing, impersonations of Shirley Temple, all things pink, and CHOCOLATE.
She is survived by her son Michael Woodard and his wife Ruth. Her four grandchildren: Todd Woodard, Tisha Plush, Jennifer Scroggins, and Rachel Bahammou; eight great-grandchildren; one sister, Mary Lou Smalley and her husband Lee; and their daughter Sharon of Tempe, Arizona.
Ann died peacefully in her sleep on Sunday, March 20, 2016. In lieu of flowers, a contribution can be made to the Alzheimer’s foundation at alz.org.
