Funeral arrangements have been set for Thursday, August 24, 2023 at St. Charles Borromeo Catholic Church. Visitation 10:30 a.m. with Mass of Christian Burial commencing at 11:00 a.m. A lunch will follow the Mass at the church, followed by a Committal Service at 1:30 p.m. at Leavenworth National Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, Memorial Contributions are suggested to the Humane Society of Ray County or Kansas City Hospice. She was born Georgia Ann Ralston on May, 8, 1933 in Kansas City, MO to James A. and Georgia (Van House) Ralston. Ann spent her entire life in the Kansas City area, and she had a long and rewarding career for Boatman’s Bank, retiring from Bank of America, where she was an Executive Assistant to the Senior Vice President of Banking. Following her retirement she served as an ambassador for Kansas City International Airport. In most recent years, she volunteered countless hours at Liberty Hospital, until her health began to fail.
Ann had a deep love for both her Lord and her family. She often attended Mass at The Cathedral of the Immaculate Conception, Holy Trinity Catholic Church in Weston, MO and held membership with St. Charles Borromeo Catholic Church in Kansas City, North.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Donald G. Johnson; son, David M. Johnson; and siblings: James Thomas Ralston, Mary Theresa Lesley, Frank Ralston, James A. Ralston, Jr., Dorothy Marie Ralston and John F. Ralston. Survived by her beloved daughter, Cindy “Cat” Hopkins; grandchildren, Brian Johnson and Derek (Mellissa) Hopkins; and great grandchildren: Zoë Johnson, Kaylee Johnson, Jeffery Hopkins and Nicholas Hopkins.
Sorry to hear of Aunt Ann’s passing. I have many fond memories of the times we visited when we were younger.
Ann was a second Mom to me when I was in high school. I spent much of my time there, as Cindy and I were best friends. They all made me feel like family, and I miss Ann already. My sincere condolences to Cindy and her entire family.
