Angele Werthmuller, 91, Kansas City, KS (formerly of Weatherby Lake, MO) passed away peacefully with her loving family by her side, Wednesday, August 10, 2022. Angele was born August 14, 1930 to Valentin and Marie (Messerian) Garinian in Cairo, Egypt.
Angele was united in marriage with the love of her life, Robert “Bob” John Werthmuller on March 24, 1953 in Cairo, Egypt. They eventually settled with their children in Kansas City.
Angele had a passion for sports, arts, cooking and being a mother to her children and any child in need of guidance. She was a very competitive athlete who excelled at any sport she pursued. Later in life she enjoyed her love of sports as a coach, mentor and a spectator watching her grandchildren play tennis, soccer and baseball. She was always happy sharing her Armenian/Egyptian culture to students throughout her life. Angele was at home on Weatherby Lake whether in her art studio, cooking, cleaning fish, paddling on her paddleboat, gardening or watching the sunset.
Angele leaves behind her loving husband of 70 years, Robert “Bob” Werthmuller; one son, Lawrence “Larry” Werthmuller (Cindy); three daughters: Mary DeCapiro (David); Angie Barrow (Brent); Linda Schelp (Myron); five grandchildren: Stephanie, Zachary, Jared, Blake and Ashley; five great-grandchildren: Ava, Neriah, Isaiah, Genevieve and Evanell; a sister, Arousiag Nassibian. She was preceded in death by both parents; a brother, David Garinian and a sister Ankine Svensson.
The family will receive friends from 10:30 – 11:30 a.m., Saturday, August 13, 2022 at Meyers Northland Chapel in Parkville, MO. The Funeral service will commence at 11:30 a.m. at the chapel. Burial will immediately follow at Terrace Park Cemetery in Kansas City, MO. In lieu of flowers Memorial contributions are suggested to Children’s Mercy Hospital. Angele treated us like family when raising our boys at Weatherby Lake. The gatherings are pleasant memories. She was giving and sincerely cared for everyone, a life well lived. Rest well.

I will always remember all the beautiful cards Aunt Angele had made us over the years and her kind and generous spirit. I was so glad I was able to visit a few years back.
