Memorial services have been set for 22 year old Alex Christopher Gardner, a Northland resident of Kansas City, MO. The family will receive friends from 1:30 to 4:30 p.m. on Sunday, May 7, 2023 in the reflection area on the campus of St. Therese School. A Mass will be offered at 10:30 a.m., Monday, May 8, at St. Therese Catholic Church.
Alex Christopher Gardner was born August 27, 2000 in North Kansas City, MO to Peter Brent and Julie Michelle (Armour) Gardner.
He graduated from St. Therese School, Park Hill South High School and attended the University of Missouri, where he majored in business and marketing. Throughout his education, Alex served internships with Pro Athlete, Hallmark, and Arrive Logistics. His strong work ethic and mind of a true entrepreneur led him into the business world at age 12, when he and his friend, Parker Greenfield started their own lawn mowing company, which grew to 35 plus yards in just a few short years.
Alex truly valued his family and friends and loved spending time with them. He grew up playing several sports such as baseball, basketball, soccer, and football. During high school and college, he began to play a lot of golf and enjoyed spending time on the golf course with his dad and friends. He loved going on hikes, kayaking, biking, and camping with his family. He loved to travel and see many different parts of the country, especially out west. He was very much a salesman. He had the gift of gab- he could talk to anyone- anywhere and anytime. Those that knew Alex would say how much of an entertainer and comedian he was. He loved to make people laugh and had the ability to light up a room with his energy and smile.
Survivors include his mother, Julie Gardner; his father, Pete Gardner; two sisters, Nicole Marie Gardner and Sarah Elizabeth Gardner; maternal grandparents, Joseph A. Armour and Marilyn Armour; paternal grandparents, Tim and Barbara Gardner; aunts and uncles, Joe (Amy) Armour, Kevin (Tina) Armour, Jane (Jace) Martin, and Ted Gardner; 10 first cousins, and a host of extended family. Alex was blessed with many close friends throughout all of his life, all of whom he cherished. In memory of Alex, memorial contributions are suggested to St. Therese School for Mental Health Education.

I am so incredibly sorry for your loss. Alex and I were fraternity brothers at Mizzou. (He was my pledge grandson) He was one of the most personable, funny, caring, and hardworking men I’ve ever met. “The gift of gab” is spot on because he could talk about anything to anyone. One thing for certain is I know how much he loved his family. Alex and your family will be in my prayers.

Julie and family,
While work took us to Ohio five years ago, St. Therese will always have a very special place in our hearts. I was shocked and saddened to learn that Alex had passed while reading the St. Therese newsletter. You were such a bright spot in Noah and Justin’s pre school experience . Please know that our hearts and prayers are with you and your family at this very sad time. Peace to you all. Michelle, Kurt, Lucy, Noah and Justin Loudon
Pete and Julie, Tim and Barbara and your families
My heart aches for you. May our Blessed Mother wrap her arms around you.
I’ve been friends with Alex for years as we went to high school and the same college together. Truly an upstanding man with so much talent and a knack for making those around him feel loved. Sorry to hear of your loss. Keeping your family and all those he touched in my prayers.
Our deepest sympathies to all of the Gardner Family and Friends on the loss of Alex. A beautiful pictorial tribute to him and the love he shared with family, friends and nature. May God’s promise of Everlasting Life bring you peace and comfort at this most difficult time.
There aren’t sufficient enough words to express my sadness for your family and this tremendous loss. Alex was just a wonderful kid. I reflect back on those years of nannying the Greenfields and watching the interactions of Alex and his friends. I knew then he was a great kid, but as a parent now I have an even different perspective of just how truly proud I know you guys must be of who he really was. Even as a young boy he was polite, respectful, mature and fun to be around. When I was his manager at OP, I could always count on Alex to be a source of reliability and hard work. My heart truly goes out to your family ❤️
Pete & the entire Gardner Family:
It is terribly hard to loose a loved one, even harder when they are so young. Alex has found the peace he was searching for. May God wrap you all in His loving & comforting arms & your hearts be filled with wonderful memories. Prayers for you all.
Angela Blazevic
