In Loving Memory of Charles Michael McKeon “Pisces”

Chuck was a man of many talents, with an incomparable sense of humor, and a larger-than-life personality. He passed away on October 31, 2023. He is preceded in death by his father Charles “Big Chuck” McKeon. He is survived by his mother Maxine McKeon, his sisters Glenda, Paula, and Kelly, his children Megan, Matthew, Erin, Sophia, and his beloved nieces and nephews.

Born and raised in Riverside, MO, Chuck attended St. Pius X before continuing his undergraduate studies at Rockhurst University and continuing on to University of Missouri-Kansas City for law school. He began his legal career at the prosecutor’s office in Jackson County before moving into private practice, where he remained for over 35 years. Chuck also had a second career as a “professional gambler” and could often be found playing video poker and sports wagering at casinos around the city.

Rugby was the great passion of Chuck’s life. He played and coached rugby with the Kansas City Blues and Jr. Blues for the entirety of his adult life. It was unequivocally his favorite way to spend time and where he had his life’s most cherished moments. Rugby afforded him the opportunity to travel and make life-long friendships all over the world.

Whether he’d known you for forty years or forty minutes, Chuck was guaranteed to make every moment spent with him unforgettable. He was a notorious prankster and one of the funniest individuals you could ever meet. He was always, without a doubt, the life of the party.

Chuck’s Celebration of life will take place on Sunday November 5, 2023 at The Brooksider from 6pm – 9pm.  In addition, family and friends will gather to visit and to celebrate Chuck’s life from 5:00 – 7:00 p.m. (6:00 p.m. Sharing of Memories), Tuesday, November 7, 2023 at Meyers Northland Chapel 401 Main Street Parkville, MO. Teresa S. Dodds, 62, a Northland resident of Kansas City, MO passed away Sunday, October 29, 2023 at North Kansas City Hospital with her loving family by her side.  Teresa was born January 3, 1961 to Glen and Barbara (Wilkinson) Harper in Kansas City, MO.

Teresa spent the majority of her working career as the owner and operator of her cleaning business in the Northland for many years.

Teresa will be deeply missed by all that knew and loved her, she was a best friend to many people.  She enjoyed fishing, gardening, watching tv, kicking-back to relax while smoking a fatty with her daughter Christina.

Teresa is survived by her best friend and husband of 22 years, Shane Dodds; her loving daughter, Christina Potter; a granddaughter, Cadence; her mother, Barbara Harper; a brother Glen Harper, Jr. and his wife, Mindy; a sister, Dalene Moss; niece Abbey Moss; nephew Blake Moss; and numerous extended family members.

Charlotte Anne Payne, 76, of Gladstone, MO passed away peacefully with her family by her side on Friday, October 27, 2023 at The University of Kansas Health System in Kansas City, KS.

Charlotte married Max Payne on September 21, 1963. They have three children Kelli A Payne, Natalie S Payne, and Kevin C Payne.  They have three Granddaughters (Elizabeth Payne Navarro, Amber Fesko Nastoff and Helen A Payne).  They have one grandson Kevin Payne Jr,  They have two Great Grandsons (Jacob Earnshaw and Daniel Miller).

Charlotte began her nursing career at Cameron College in Lawton, Oklahoma and graduated from Saint Mary’s University in Leavenworth, Kansas with a Bachelor of Science Degree in Nursing (BSN).

She was the Director of the Women’s Center at St John’s Hospital in Leavenworth, KS for several years.  She worked in the Labor and Delivery Center in the Enterprise, Alabama hospital and sometimes was a flight nurse on helicopters transporting babies to more advanced hospitals.

While living in Washington, DC she was the manager of the Federal Health Center that provided medical support to the U.S. Supreme Court Justices and their staff.  She later became manager of the Federal Health Center that provided medical support to the Secret Service Members and Staff who worked at the U.S. White House.

While living in Kansas City, MO and Fort Worth, TX she worked in the field of Federal Occupational Health providing support and medical guidance to Federal Health Facilities throughout the United States. She moved back to Fredonia, Ks where she worked in the Fredonia Regional Hospital and was instrumental in the planning and construction of the new section added to the original hospital.

Charlotte loved playing bridge with friends and golfing. She also loved the many cruise ship trips with her husband and friends and trips to foreign countries.

Charlotte was born in Canadian, Texas which is in the panhandle of Texas.  Charlotte was not a Veteran but was married to a Veteran which is why they moved so much.

Charlotte was proceeded in death by her father John Ralph McClure and mother Audrey Irene Dickerson, two sisters Kathleen Milberger, and Vicki Ferguson; two children Kevin Payne and Natalie Payne

Charlotte is survived by her husband of 60 years, daughter Kelli Payne Kansas City Mo, Granddaughters Ashley Payne Navarro and husband Keith Navarro Independence, MO, Amber Fesko Nastoff and her husband Brice Nastoff Appleton, WI, and Helen A Payne Wetumka, OK, one grandson Kevin Payne Jr, Wetumka, OK  and two great grandsons Jacob Earnshaw and Daniel Miller Independence, MO and two sisters Patricia Vaught Fairbanks, AK and Barbara Smith and her husband Lee Smith, Topeka, KS.

A Celebration of Charlotte’s life will be held at 1:00 p.m., Saturday, November 18, 2023 at the Countryside Funeral Home in Fredonia, Kansas. In lieu of flowers the family suggests Memorial contributions are suggested to the Pulmonary Fibrosis Foundation in memory of Charlotte at pulmonaryfibrosis.org.  Memories of Charlotte and condolences to the family may be shared at meyersfuneralchapel.com
