Tacea Carol Dreis, 62, of St. Augustine, FL. (formerly of Parkville, MO) passed away Wednesday, March 31, 2021 at the Mayo Clinic in Jacksonville, FL after a courageous battle against Leukemia.  She was born to Hollis Paul and Mary Sue (Anderson) Malone on December 24, 1958 in Chattanooga, TN.

In 2016 Tacea, her husband David and mother Sue moved to St. Augustine, FL.  In 2016 she took a job as a ghost tour guide at night at Ripley’s Believe It or Not Haunted Castle in downtown St. Augustine, FL.  [Read more…]

Bob Oberhelman

Robert L. Oberhelman, 75, of Parkville, MO passed away peacefully on Monday, March 29, 2021.  At the time of his passing, Bob was at home under hospice care.

Bob was born November 29, 1945 in Manhattan, KS to Otto and Ruth Flagg Oberhelman.  He graduated from Park Hill High School and proudly served in the United States Army. Bob spent the majority of his working career as a systems operator for KCP&L. [Read more…]

David J. Boomershine, 47, of Independence, MO, passed away Tuesday, March 30, 2021 at his home.  He was born July 19, 1973 in Richmond, IN.

He was a Blue Springs, MO resident for most of his life, graduating from Blue Springs High School in 1993.  He was a tile and carpet installer for many local companies and contractors, as well as being a jack-of-all trades for countless friends and family. David was also passionate about his recovery from alcoholism and celebrated 9 years of sobriety in August of 2020. [Read more…]

Walter E. Fulps, 84, Independence, MO, faced life with determination, humor, and a zest that took him on many adventures, but after a valiant battle with cancer, he left this life surrounded by his family on March 29, 2021. Walter was born on December 26, 1936, in Mexico City, Mexico, to James Fulps and Guadalupe Sotura Fulps. He married Debra Abney Fulps on September 17, 1983. [Read more…]

Lawrence “Shorty” Victor Hackett, 79, a resident of Blue Springs, MO passed away peacefully Sunday, March 28, 2021 at Ignite Resort at St. Mary’s in Blue Springs, MO.  He was born April 22, 1941 to Lawrence and June (Humpherys) Hackett in Independence, MO.

Shorty attended Blue Springs High School.  He spent 40 years as an over the road truck driver and later was a low boy operator and heavy equipment operator for Par Electric, Shorty officially retired in 2002.  Shorty enjoyed shooting skeet, bass fishing, hunting deer and turkey. [Read more…]

Loretta is a Kansas City Northland native and has played a key role in the success of the Meyers Northland location. On October 24, 2022 Loretta was promoted and named manager of our Northland location. Loretta and her husband Cade live in Kansas City, MO. She has two sons, Nigel and Ian. Loretta is enrolled in the Leadership Northland Class with the Northland Regional Chamber of Commerce and is a member of the KCI Rotary Club.
