Shirlee J. Larsen, 78, passed away Saturday, October 31, 2020 at her daughter’s home in Independence, MO.

She was born May 26, 1942 in Hutchinson, KS, the daughter of Charles E. and Velda J. (DeNoon) Sharp. She grew up in Newton, KS and graduated from Newton High School and later from Tarkio College.

Shirlee retired from Olin Corporation and later was the Manager for the American Legion Post 21, Independence, MO. Shirlee was active with Mid-America Mensa, BPOE Elks Lodge #26 –KCMO, Beta Sigma Phi Sorority, American Legion Auxiliary, and the VFW Auxiliary. [Read more…]

Donna Fuller

Donna Fuller, 78, of Gladstone, MO formerly of Weatherby Lake, MO passed away unexpectedly on Friday, October 30, 2020 at her home. She was born on January 29, 1942 in Wister, OK to Durell and Opal (Midgley) Morgan. They preceded her in death.

Donna married Samuel B. Fuller on November 2, 1963 in Kansas City, MO. Sam preceded her in death on her birthday, January 29, 2005. They had lived at Weatherby Lake for over 30 years.

She spent the majority of her working career alongside Sam in their family business, Fuller’s Dental Lab. She was a former member of the Park Hill Baptist Church. Being a wife, mother and granny came first and was most important to Donna. In her spare time she enjoyed being with family, trips to the casino and she was an avid Kansas City Chiefs and Royals fan.

Survivors include her daughter, Shauna Kirtley and husband, Steve of Parkville, MO; her son, Steve Fuller of Kansas City, MO; nine siblings: Phyllis Williams, JoAnn Meeks, Bess Meeh, Geraldine Duncan, Glenda Shadwick, Bud Morgan, Barb McCollom, Lana Klein and Cliff Morgan; and five beloved grandchildren: Blake, Trent, Paul, Andy and Emily.

A funeral service celebrating Donna’s life will be held 4:00 p.m. Thursday, November 5, 2020 at the Meyers Northland Chapel in Parkville. The family will receive friends following the service on Thursday from 5:00-7:00 p.m. Masks will be required and social distancing will be enforced. A private committal service and burial will be held Friday, November 6, 2020, at Leavenworth National Cemetery. Memories of Donna and condolences may be shared at Meyersfuneralchapel.com.

Randall L. “Randy” Henning

Randall L. “Randy” Henning, 60, passed away at St. Luke’s Hospital, Kansas City, MO, Tuesday, October 27, 2020.

He was born April 6, 1960, in Lexington, MO, the son of the late Harlan and Mary Ann (Rist) Henning. He was a Blue Springs, MO resident since 1983. Randy was a member of Timothy Lutheran Church, Blue Springs, MO, and he was the Owner & Operator of Randy’s Personal Auto Service, since 1993.

On July 18, 1981 he married his high school sweetheart, Susan Schnakenberg in Concordia, MO, she survives of the home. Other survivors include their children, Lindsey Bragg and husband Isaiah, Blue Springs, MO, Nicholas Henning and wife Kristen, Blue Springs, MO, Lisa Wilson and husband Andrew, Buckner, MO, his brother, Robert Henning and wife Bev, Spring Hill, KS, his sister, Carol Henning, Blue Springs, MO, as well as six grandchildren, Alexa, Landon, and Leah Bragg, Joel Henning, Sage and Harrison Wilson. He was preceded in death by his parents and his brother, Keith Henning.

Randy was a true lover of all sports. He loved his Royals and Chiefs and the Mizzou Tigers. His family was his pride and joy and will always be remembered for the amazing husband, father, papa, and friend he was.

Cremation has taken place and visitation will be from 1:00 pm to 2:00 pm, with a memorial service following at 2:00 pm, Saturday, November 7, 2020, all at Timothy Lutheran Church, 425 NW R.D. Mize Road, Blue Springs, MO, 64014. Due to Jackson County COVID-19 regulations masks will be required in the church at all times. Memorial contributions in Randy’s name may be given to the Liggett Trail Special Education Center where his grandchildren go to school, in care of Meyers Funeral Chapel.
