Rebecca Cobos, 79, formerly of Wichita, KS passed away peacefully at her residence in Parkville, MO on Thursday, April 30, 2020.  She was born June 10, 1940 in Wichita to Jose and Georgina (Ponce) Hernandez.

Rebecca was very devoted to both her Lord and her family.  She spent the majority of her working career as a nurse for St. Francis Hospital in Wichita.  She had an unconditional love for everyone.  In her spare time, she enjoyed reading, crocheting, and spending time with her family. [Read more…]

N.T. “Nick” Burrus

N.T. Reed (Nick) Burrus passed away peacefully surrounded by his loving family Wednesday,  April 29,2020 at his home. He was 92 years old.

Nick was a life long resident of Blue Springs, MO.  During high school he worked as a mechanic  at Gasoline  Alley at Lake Lotowana. He met his first wife Laura Lee Morris and they married in 1947 after her graduation. They had two daughters Diana and Jill. Nick was a carpenter at Lake City Army Ammunition Plant before becoming a Custom Home Builder. That career lasted 68 years. [Read more…]

Dennis Ray Carroll, 70, of Riverside, MO passed away unexpectedly at his home on Thursday, April 30, 2020.  Dennis was born May 15, 1949 to Clarence Leo Sr. and Charlene M. (Goodrich) Carroll, in Buchanan County, MO.

Dennis will be remembered for his beautiful singing voice and writing songs; having a heart of gold; always sharing and giving to others. He was extremely artistic and enjoyed working with ceramics. Many also remember him as humble, gentle, caring and happy-go lucky. He was always willing to give the shirt off of his back to anyone in need, even if he needed it himself. He had a generous spirit. Evelyn Gladys (Arthur) Wyatt Wooliver, 95, a resident of Belton, MO passed away peacefully Tuesday, April 28, 2020 at her home surrounded by loved ones.  She was born December 31, 1924 in Kansas City, KS to Lester and Nora (Simpson) Arthur.

On March 8, 1944 she married the love of her life Thomas E. Wyatt. Together they were happily married 46 years and had four boys. After her retirement from Western Electric they owned and operated Tom and Eve’s Fern Glen Resort at Lake of the Ozarks for several years. [Read more…]

Jenny Alpers

Jenny Dee Alpers, 37, a resident of Blue Springs, MO passed away Monday, April 27, 2020 at the University of Kansas Medical Center after a courageous 17-month battle against cancer. She was born December 27, 1982 in Independence, MO to Les and Janifer (Ebersold) Alpers.

Jenny graduated from the Blue Springs School District in 2001. She went on to receive her Bachelor of Music Education, pass the Praxis to teach elementary K-3rd grade and obtain her Master’s degree in library science. Loretta is a Kansas City Northland native and has played a key role in the success of the Meyers Northland location. On October 24, 2022 Loretta was promoted and named manager of our Northland location. Loretta and her husband Cade live in Kansas City, MO. She has two sons, Nigel and Ian. Loretta is enrolled in the Leadership Northland Class with the Northland Regional Chamber of Commerce and is a member of the KCI Rotary Club.
