Emma “Paralee” Cossey, 93 of Warsaw, MO passed away at home on Saturday, February 29, 2020. She was born to Roy and Eula (Cain) Shepherd on March 13, 1926 in BlueTip, Arkansas.

In 1960 she moved to Kansas City, Missouri with her husband and four children. She spent many years working in a phone room, as a factory worker, and in a nursing home. After retiring she loved traveling; she would stop to visit with family, sometimes with an extended stay. Lawn work and her flowers were her passion. [Read more…]

Leah Joy Young, 78, a resident of Buckner, MO passed away peacefully Saturday, February 29, 2020 at Village Hospice in Lee’s Summit, MO.  She was born June 2, 1941 in Canon City, CO to Edwin and Evora (Hartford) Lawrence.

Leah was united in marriage to Tommy Young on July 22, 1966 In Canon City, CO.  She taught piano at Meyer Music for 20 years, before retiring in 2004.  Leah was Southern Baptist by faith.  In her younger years she was very active in her church choir.  Leah enjoyed reading Christian romance novels, and watching TV. Bob grew up in Syracuse, Kansas and graduated from the University of Kansas with both his Bachelor and Master’s in Education.  He volunteered for the Marine Corps Reserve during the Vietnam War and married Sandra Bailey at First Christian Church in Fort Scott Kansas on December 21, 1969.  [Read more…]

Robert “Bob” MacMillan, CM Sgt, 87, a resident of Blue Springs, MO passed away Wednesday, February 26, 2020 in Springdale, AR. He was born November 29, 1932 in Red Bank, NJ to Malcolm and Marion (Rogers) MacMillan.

Chief Master Sergeant Robert D. MacMillan served his country proudly in the United States Air Force, spending 28 years, 8 months, and 12 days in service. He was united in marriage to Phyllis Jones on July 21, 2005. They attended Blue River Church of Christ in Lee’s Summit, MO. Bob enjoyed planning trips for his RV. He was a perfectionist in wood working, making several beautiful items including many Noah’s Arks with animals and rocking horses. [Read more…]

Bernice F. Broyles, 91, of Parkville, MO passed away February 26, 2020.  She was born March 11, 1928 in Kansas City, KS to Mark and Florence Wilson.

Bernice graduated from Ward High School. She spent many years as a Senior Teller at a bank branch in Parkville. Her most important role in life was being a loving and devoted mother of her six children. Bernice’s selflessness, determination, and perseverance carried her through tough times raising a family. She never faltered in her love for her six kids and all of her grandchildren. As a member of St. Therese Parish since 1958 she lived her life for her lord, her family and her friends. [Read more…]

Loretta is a Kansas City Northland native and has played a key role in the success of the Meyers Northland location. On October 24, 2022 Loretta was promoted and named manager of our Northland location. Loretta and her husband Cade live in Kansas City, MO. She has two sons, Nigel and Ian. Loretta is enrolled in the Leadership Northland Class with the Northland Regional Chamber of Commerce and is a member of the KCI Rotary Club.
