Irys Hall

Irys Maxine Minter Hall, a lifelong resident of Blue Springs, Missouri passed away Monday, September 30, 2019.  She was 94 years old.  Irys was born on March 6, 1925 in Blue Springs to Halys Lowe Williams and Ira Grover Minter.  She graduated from Blue Springs High School.  On June 8, 1947 she was united in marriage to James “Bill” Marshall Hall.

Irys retired from working at Lake City Army Ammunition Plant.  She was a member of the First United Methodist Church of Blue Springs, American Legion Post #499 Auxiliary, VFW #6603 Auxiliary and the Blue Springs Historical Society.  [Read more…]

Harold Couch

Harold L. Couch, 71, a longtime resident of Gladstone, MO passed away on Sunday, September 29, 2019. Harold was born June 28, 1948 to Harold and Dolores Couch in St. Joseph, MO.

Harold graduated from Park Hill High School in 1966. After graduation he enlisted in the United States Air Force and served his country during the Viet Nam Era.

He was self-employed as the owner of C&C Cement Construction and was a member of the Cement Finishers Union Local # 518. Harold was also a lifetime member of the VFW. [Read more…]

Dora Rainey

“The image of Dora that we’ll never lose is her eager, smiling eyes and her charming grin. She wanted to see the smile that she knew she could produce on your face and that’s what she expected wherever she went.

She would cross the room to hug her mom, her dad, and her brothers. She was adored by the community of young gymnasts and their families at Edge Gymnastics and there were many who looked forward to holding her and playing with her.

Dora had a ridiculous appetite and ate meals that seemed like contests or marathons. She seemed to have an uncommon vigor and desire to thrive, explore, and join the big kids around her. At 14 months she was beginning to jump on the trampoline with two feet. She liked to grip bars and hang on them. She loved to strip bookshelves, unload containers and climb.  She loved to be tossed high onto piles of pillows. She loved to hold and hug and snuggle with soft toys. Gregory “Greg” Alan Thate, 62, a resident of Florissant, MO passed away peacefully Sunday, September 29, 2019 at his home.  He was born June 10, 1957 in East St. Louis, IL to William and Doris (Brase) Thate.

Greg graduated from Fort Osage High School and received his Bachelor’s Degree in Journalism/Business from Northwest Missouri State University in Maryville, MO.  He was a member of the Alpha Kappa Lambda (AKL) Fraternity and still is in touch with a few of his brothers. [Read more…]

Patrick “Pat” Giles, 65, a resident of Parkville, MO passed away on Saturday, September 28, 2019.

Loretta Temple

Manager - Northland Chapel

Loretta is a Kansas City Northland native and has played a key role in the success of the Meyers Northland location. On October 24, 2022 Loretta was promoted and named manager of our Northland location. Loretta and her husband Cade live in Kansas City, MO. She has two sons, Nigel and Ian. Loretta is enrolled in the Leadership Northland Class with the Northland Regional Chamber of Commerce and is a member of the KCI Rotary Club.
