Everett E. “Bob” Baker, 93, of Parkville, MO passed away March 31, 2019 in Kansas City, MO. He was born April 27, 1925 in Hamlet, NE. Bob attended high school in Chillicothe, MO and served in the United States Navy. He spent the majority of his working career in sales and management for Cousins Furniture.

Survivors include his wife, Kathleen “Kathy” (Gladbach) Baker; a son, Robert M. Baker: a daughter, Cynthia K. Martin; and two grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents and four brothers. [Read more…]

Kayleen Perschau

Kayleen S. Perschau, 68, died March 31 at NorthCare Hospice House after a three-month fight with encephalitis and lymphoma.

John Paul Moudy, III

John Paul Moudy, III, a Northland resident of Kansas City, MO passed away unexpectedly March 30, 2019 in Kansas City. He was born August 14, 1985 in Kansas City to John Paul, Jr. and Patricia Ann Moudy.

John graduated from Kearney High School in 2004 and Maple Woods Community College, where he excelled in baseball and was a standout catcher. He enjoyed working out, cycling, and exploring nature. [Read more…]

Merrill Chambers

Merrill Wayne Chambers, 87, passed away on Saturday, March 30, 2019 at the Cedarhurst Assisted Living of Blue Springs, MO. He was born in Bloomington, IN on September 10, 1931 to Alma and Robert Chambers.

Merrill attended Bloomington High School and graduated in 1950. He then joined the United States Navy in December 1950 where he served his country until September 1954. Merrill worked several jobs in the Bloomington area until he left in 1957 to attend Central Technical School in Kansas City, MO. While attending school he worked for Harmon Industries of Grain Valley, MO. Upon his graduation in 1959 he began working for the New York Central Railroad until 1972. Followed by a two-year stint with Western Cullen of Illinois before returning to work at Harmon Industries in Grain Valley where he enjoyed 30 + years of service before retiring in 2003. Maxine Waggoner

Maxine Waggoner, 86, a long-time resident of Blue Springs, MO passed away peacefully at her home surrounded by her loving family on Saturday, March 30, 2019. She was born on June 6, 1932 in Viola, AR to Frank and Rachel (Brown) Morrison.

Maxine was united in marriage to Henry Waggoner on August 29, 1959 in Kansas City, MO. She worked as a department head for the Kansas City Credit Bureau for 44 years. Maxine was a member of the Church of Christ. She cherished the time she spent with her family and friends.

Survived by her son, Alan Keith Waggoner and wife Elizabeth of Blue Springs, MO; step-daughter, Vicky Hartman of Lee’s Summit, MO; sister, Janice Sooter of Blue Springs, MO; brother, Forrest Morrison of Coweta, OK; several grandchildren and great-grandchildren; a host of nieces and nephews. She is preceded in death by her husband; parents; 1 sister; 2 brothers.

The family will receive friends and family from 10-11:00 a.m. on Saturday, April 6, 2019 at Meyers Funeral Chapel, 1600 W. Main St, Blue Springs, MO. A graveside service will be held immediately following the visitation at the Blue Springs Cemetery. Memories of Maxine and words of comfort for her family may be shared at meyersfuneralchapel.com.
