Nancy EatonNancy Jo Eaton, 70, a resident of Blue Springs, MO passed away peacefully with her loving family at her side on Wednesday, August 29, 2018.  She was born on October 27, 1947 in Iowa City, IA to Neil and Betty (Nauman) Stahle.

Nancy was united in marriage to William “Bill” Eaton on August 9, 1991 in Kansas City, MO.  She spent the majority of her working career in the retail industry.  Nancy lived an adventurous and passionate life.  She had a way about her that inspired others, whether thru her artistic talents, or the smile and compassion she showed others.  [Read more…]

Tien Schaeffer

Tien Schaeffer, 81, a Northland resident of Kansas City, MO passed away Wednesday, August 29, 2018, at St. Luke’s Hospital of Kansas City.  She was born August 25, 1937 in Shanghai, China and came to America on February 1, 1971.

Tien spent the majority of her career as a restaurant owner and operator.  She was raised Catholic and was recently baptized in the Presbyterian Church and became a member of the Pine Ridge Presbyterian Church in Kansas City.  In her spare time, she enjoyed crocheting and made several hats and scarfs that she donated to Catholic Charities and City Union Mission.  She also crocheted baby blankets that she donated to Children’s Mercy Hospital.  Tien spent countless hours volunteering at food pantries and soup kitchens.  Additional hobbies included cooking, picking fresh fruit and spending time with her family. Beulah B. Spainhour, 89, of Lee’s Summit, MO passed away Sunday, August 26, 2018.

Funeral services will be held at 11:00 am Thursday, August 30, 2018 at the Meyers Funeral Chapel in Blue Springs, MO.  A visitation will be one hour prior to service. Memorial contributions have been suggested to the Breast Cancer Society.

Beulah was born September 27, 1928 in Pleasant Hill, MO the daughter of Walter and Della (Ford) Byrd. She was a member of Mt. Zion Baptist Church in Lee’s Summit, MO, and had worked as a laborer at the Bendix plant.  [Read more…]

Terri AdkisonTerri Jo Adkison, 55, a resident of Blue Springs, MO passed away on August 25, 2018 at her home.  She was born on October 28, 1962 in Sioux Falls, SD to Lowell and Carol (Jansen) Bishop.

Gerald BrewerGerald “Jerry” Leamon Brewer, 69, a resident of Blue Springs, MO passed away at his home on Thursday, August 23, 2018.  He was born on June 6, 1949 in Oregon County, MO to Charles and Imogene (Campbell) Brewer.

Jerry served his country proudly in the United States Army.  He was united in marriage to Peggy Bowles on April 7, 1985 in Springfield, MO.  Jerry spent the majority of his working career in car sales throughout the Springfield, MO area.  He was a member of the American Legion Post 639 in Springfield.  Jerry enjoyed fishing, gardening, watching movies especially westerns and Syfy.  He truly enjoyed the time he spent with his family and friends. Loretta is a Kansas City Northland native and has played a key role in the success of the Meyers Northland location. On October 24, 2022 Loretta was promoted and named manager of our Northland location. Loretta and her husband Cade live in Kansas City, MO. She has two sons, Nigel and Ian. Loretta is enrolled in the Leadership Northland Class with the Northland Regional Chamber of Commerce and is a member of the KCI Rotary Club.
