Mildred Lucille Edie, 97, a resident of Blue Springs, MO passed away peacefully on Saturday, March 31, 2018. She was born on July 9, 1920 in Independence, MO to Orville and Bertha (Whitlock) Scarborough.

Mildred was united in marriage to William J. Edie on December 20, 1938 in Blue Springs, MO. She owned and operated Edie’s Egg Farm in Blue Springs for several years with her husband, while raising her two sons, Billy and Bobby. Mildred was a member of the First Baptist Church of Blue Springs prior to becoming a charter member of Plaza Heights Baptist Church in Blue Springs, MO, she was also a 50 year member of the Rebekah Lodge. Amelia Goslin

Amelia Torres Goslin, 85, formerly of El Paso, Texas, passed away on Saturday, March 31, in Blue Springs, Mo. Known to many of her friends and family simply as “Amy,” she battled Alzheimer’s disease for the last 6 years.

Born on Jan. 12, 1933, Amy was the first child of Rosendo and Amelia (Yanez) Torres. She grew up in El Paso, attending Lamar Elementary and El Paso High School. She received a Bachelor of Science degree from Texas Western University and a teaching certificate in 1955 and a master’s degree in education from University of Texas at El Paso in 1978. Dorothy Perlik

Dorothy Ann Perlik, 82, a Northland resident of Kansas City, MO passed away March 30, 2018, surrounded by family. She was born March 21, 1936 in Kansas City, KS to Leopold and Mary (Majerle) Anzicek.

Dorothy was born and raised in Kansas City, KS in the Strawberry Hill neighborhood. She attended Holy Family Grade School and graduated from the former Loretto Academy in Kansas City, MO. Dorothy spent the majority of her working years as a bookkeeper for several area churches, including the Cathedral of the Immaculate Conception and Our Lady of Good Counsel Parishes.

Her most important job was that of wife and mother. Throughout her life she remained very devoted to both her Lord and her family. She was a long-time member of St. Therese Parish and was a very active member throughout this community. [Read more…]

Marion E. Gentry

Marion E. Gentry, 86, a Northland resident of Kansas City, MO, passed away Thursday, March 29, 2018 at the University of Missouri Hospital in Columbia, MO.

Marion was born June 25, 1931 in Regal, MO to Sidney and Frances (Temple) Gentry. Marion spent the majority of his career as an extension agent for the University of Missouri. He farmed near the Hardin, MO area where his family has owned land for several generations. Marion was an active member in Rotary Club for nearly 50 years and has been a member of the Parkville Rotary Club since 2003. He was a board member of both the Northland Assistance Center and the North Lake Meadows Homeowners Association. Marion was a long-time faithful member of the First United Methodist Church of North Kansas City. He also was an avid fan of Mizzou sports teams and the Kansas City Royals. [Read more…]
