Jean Frances McFarland, 84, a Northland resident of Kansas City, MO passed away August 31, 2017. She was born August 30, 1933 in El Paso, Texas to Clifford and Ena Paulson Gott. She spent much of her childhood in Richmond, MO, where she graduated from Richmond High School in 1951.

Jean was a Registered Nurse, receiving her diploma from St. Luke’s School of Nursing in 1954. She started her career of over 50 years at St. Luke’s and North Kansas City Hospitals, with the remainder of her career as an Industrial Health nurse for the former Mobay Corporation and other local companies. Mary Ann Rumker

Mary Ann Rumker, 89, a Northland resident of Kansas City, MO and member of St. Therese Parish passed away Tuesday, August 29, 2017 at the Golden Age Nursing Home in Braymer, MO. She was born May 27, 1928 in Springfield, MO to Bernard A. and Johanna M. (Gronniger) Hilmes.

Mary Ann, the fourth of nine children, graduated from St. Agnes High School in Springfield, MO. Following graduation, she was employed as a secretary for Johnson’s Construction Company in Springfield. [Read more…]

Darlene Jones

Danna Darlene Jones, 82, a longtime resident of Blue Springs, MO passed away peacefully at her home on Wednesday, August 30, 2017. She was born January 31, 1935 in Carrollton, MO to Charles and Gladys (Bowlen) Boyer.

Darlene was united in marriage to Freddie Paul Fensom on October 30, 1954 in Kansas City, MO. For several years she worked as the regional manager for Dorothy Gray Cosmetics. Later Darlene would marry Robert Kilroy Jones on February 5, 1987 in Ft. Myers, FL. Darlene enjoyed traveling, and spending time with her family and many friends. Darlene was involved in several organizations through-out the Blue Springs area including, past president of the Saint Mary’s Auxiliary, and past president of the Blue Springs Art League.
Survivors include son, Fred Gregory Thomas Fensom (Carole) of Blue Springs, MO; daughter, Karrie Sue Fensom of Blue Springs, MO; grandchildren, Cassidy Rae Fensom of Blue Springs, MO, Karlie Maureen Rose-Clark (Casey), Danna Kapriel Rose of Blue Springs, MO. She is preceded in death by her parents, Charles and Gladys Boyer; first husband, Freddie Paul Fensom; second husband, Robert Kilroy Jones.

The family will receive friends from 9:30-11:00 a.m., Tuesday, September 5, 2017 at Meyers Funeral Chapel, 1600 W. Main St., Blue Springs, MO. Funeral service will start at 11:00 a.m., at the chapel. Burial will follow at the Blue Springs Cemetery. [Read more…]

Mr. Jackie Lee Yeubanks, 73, a Northland resident of Kansas City, MO passed away August 27, 2017 at the Kansas City Hospice House.

Jack was born July 23, 1944 in Mound Valley, KS to Charles Everett and Helen Pauline (Brecht) Yeubanks. He spent the majority of his working career as a self-employed contractor in the Metropolitan area of Kansas City.
