Joseph Charles Ernst, Sr., 92, a Northland resident of Kansas City, MO passed away Thursday, July 30, 2015. He was born March 10, 1923 in St. Paul, MN to Paul and Margaret (Flannery) Ernst. Joe was proud to be a veteran of the United States Marine Corp. He was promoted rapidly to Master Sergeant and served with VMF 212, Marine Fighter Squadron, Solomon Islands, WWII. He spent the majority of his working years for the United States Government as a Customs Agent, where he retired in Washington D.C.. During his tenure with Customs, he served as the Customs Agent In Charge, State of Alaska, held supervisory positions in California and appointed by the Commissioner of Customs to be the US Customs Attache in Bangkok, Thailand. During his time in Washington D.C., he was instrumental in starting the Federal Sky Marshal Program. He was a devoted to the Catholic faith and was long-time member of St. Therese Parish. Dorothy Margaret LaShure, widow of Willis “Jiggs” LaShure passed away peacefully, on Wednesday, July 29, 2015 at Carmel Hills Nursing Home in Independence, MO. Born in Pardeeville, WI in 1918 to David and Emma Eagen, she was one of seven children. Ezra James Stamm, 7 month old infant son of Robert and Brianna (Riley) Stamm of Kansas City, MO (Northland) passed away July 27, 2015.

Oliver I. “Doc” White, 85, of Blue Springs, MO passed away July 28, 2015 at his home. Doc was born June 19, 1930 in Camdenton, MO to Della White. He served his country in the US Navy during the Korean War. Doc graduated from Divinity School in Orange County California and was a Baptist minister.
