Edward A. Norgren, Jr., 58, of Blue Springs, Missouri passed away April 28, 2012 at Kansas City Hospice House after a courageous fight with cancer. A celebration of Ed’s life will be held at 4:00 pm, Wednesday, May 2, 2012 at the First United Methodist Church of Blue Springs, 302 SW Woods Chapel Rd, Blue Springs, MO. Valerie M. Potter, 53, of Blue Springs, MO passed away April 25, 2011 in Independence, MO at Centerpoint Medical Center. She was born March 27, 1959 to Robert and Betty (Pierce) Owings. She was CEO of Delta Sweeping Company, a street sweeping company. Valerie had attended Cornerstone Church and was a Christian by faith. She was a member of the Kansas City Chamber of Commerce. O. “Duane” Hathcoat
Orben “Duane” Hathcoat, 74, a resident of Parkville, MO passed away on Tuesday, April 24, 2012 at his home. Duane was the oldest of five children born to, Maxine “Rose” (Keller) and Bill Hathcoat, on April 11, 1938 in Nowata, Oklahoma. Duane entered into the United States Army in 1958. During his military career he received the following decorations; Good Conduct Medal, Marksman Badge, Sharpshooter Badge and Expert Badge. On April 7, 1977, Duane was united in marriage to the love of his life, Sherrill “Sherri” McMahon in Parkville, MO at the Park Hill Christian Church. Donald E. Hecht, 77, of Blue Springs, MO passed away April 24, 2012 at his home. He was born April 21, 1935 in Rochester, NY to Lawrence and Isabelle (Fischer) Hecht. His wife, Joan preceded him in death in 2009. He was a US Army veteran and was a meat cutter for area grocery stores. He loved reading, movies, history, and playing cards with his friends.
