Mary Adelia Butler-Pitts, 87, a resident of Versailles, MO passed away in Jefferson City, MO on Wednesday, April 11, 2018. She was born on September 11, 1930 to Ernest and Annie (Norman) Hamilton in Covington, TN.
Mary was united in marriage to Leslie Butler, former principal of Blue Springs High School. She spent the majority of her working career at Bendix, starting out as a stenographer and working her way to plant manager before retiring in 1977. Mary later worked in Real Estate and Insurance before retiring completely in 2001. She enjoyed her work and traveling especially taking cruises.
Survivors include children, Dale Butler (Joyce) of Lake Ozark, MO, Joyce Taylor (Bill) of Flower Mound, TX, Ruth Coulson (Danny) of Independence, MO; siblings, Shirley, Betty, Patty, David; grandchildren, Leslie Scott Butler, Travis Taylor, Stacey Coulson, Danny Coulson; step-grandchildren, Christa Anderson, James McWilliams; great-grandchildren, Colton Taylor, Brenna Taylor, Vienna Coulson, Maelle Coulson, Danny Coulson III, Sawyer Coulson; step-great grandson, Wyatt Schreiber. She is preceded in death by husbands, Leslie Butler, Raymond Pitts; parents, Ernest and Annie Hamilton; siblings, Charles, Bobby, Leon, Alice Geneva “Sis”, Audrey Imogene “Jeanie”, Lila Helen, Harold and infant twins.
The family will receive friends from 12:30-2:00 p.m., on Monday, April16, 2018 at Meyers Funeral Chapel, 1600 W. Main St, Blue Springs, MO. Funeral service will start at 2:00 p.m., at the Chapel. The family suggests that memorial contributions be made to the American Heart Association or Dementia Society of America. Burial will follow at the Blue Springs Cemetery.
