On November 1, 1947 Melvin was united in marriage to Dolores Sutton in Hillsboro, Ill. He spent the majority of his working career as a Foreman with Alton Box. Melvin was a devoted member of Blue Springs Christian Church where he was an elder. Melvin enjoyed fishing, watching the Kansas City Royals, coaching baseball, cooking out and playing cards especially, pinochle.
Survivors include daughters, Vickie Lynn Gray of Greenville, IL, Terry Diane Copeland and husband Ron of Lenexa, KS; son, Ronald Dean Wall and wife June of Blue Springs, MO; grandchildren, Kelli Lutz and husband Tim of Mulberry Grove, IL, Scott Gray and wife Nicole of Franklin, TN, Laura Bussell and husband Michael of Shawnee, KS, Joseph Copeland and wife Mims of Portland OR, Jennifer Copeland and husband Mark Luce of Kansas City, MO, Steven Wall and wife Emily of Kansas City, MO, Jason Wall of TX, Jeff Wall of Kansas City, KS, Jimmy Wall of Gardner, KS, Mark Wall and wife Lisa of Louisville, CO, Lance Wall of MO; great grandchildren, Skylar Spring and husband Donald, Tyler Lutz, Aidan Gray, Conor Gray, Jacob Mruskovich, Corey Mruskovich, Miles Luce, Quinn Luce, Sadie Copeland, Timothy Copeland, Brady Wall, Kennedy Wall, Brooks Wall; great-great grandchild, Donavin Spring, Hudson Mruskovich, Mickey Mruskovich. He is preceded in death by his wife, Dolores Wall; sons, Steven Scott Wall and Donald Gene Wall; parents, Benjamin and Ruby Wall.
Funeral services for Melvin will be held at 11:00 a.m., Saturday, April 14, 2018 at Meyers Funeral Chapel, 1600 W. Main St., Blue Springs, MO, 816-229-3276, with visitation one hour prior to the service at the chapel. Burial will be at Blue Springs Cemetery.
