Johanna Rose Baker, 90, a resident of Blue Springs, MO passed away peacefully surrounded by her loving family on Friday, March 9, 2018. She was born on August 26, 1927 in Fairmount, MO to Joseph and Gertrude (Tengblade) Fisher.
Johanna was united in marriage to John Baker on April 6, 1947 in Blue Springs, MO. She was a longtime member of the First United Methodist Church of Blue Springs. Johanna was a 50 year member of the Buckner Chapter 280 Order of the Eastern Star, she served as a Worthy Matron 7 times, District Deputy Grand Matron of the 59th District, and Grand Representative to Georgia in Missouri.
Survivors include daughter, Virginia Kernes (Wayne) of Blue Springs, MO; son, Floyd Baker (Teresa) of Belton, MO; granddaughters, Amanda Kernes, Sarah Jones (Geoff), Shannon Brower (Jay); great-grandsons, Grant Jones, Eli Cary; numerous nieces and nephews. She is preceded in death by her husband, John Baker; parents, Joseph and Gertrude Fisher; siblings, Eva Henley, Gertrude Doyle, Thelma Mowry, Carol Allen, Andrew Fisher.
The family will receive friends from 10-11:00 a.m., on Wednesday, March 14, 2018 at Meyers Funeral Chapel, 1600 W. Main St, Blue Springs, MO. Funeral service will start at 11:00 a.m., at the chapel. Burial will follow at the Blue Springs Cemetery.
