Clifford Ray Ramsey, 78, a resident of Blue Springs, MO passed away peacefully on Saturday, February 3, 2018 at his home, surrounded by his loving wife and children. He was born September 22, 1939 in Muskogee, OK to Rayburn and Lahoma Ramsey.
Cliff served his country proudly in the United States Marines. He was united in marriage to Lynda Birnie on August 21, 1965 in Arcata, CA. Cliff spent the majority of his working career as a Pastor serving in Oklahoma, Kansas and Missouri. He was an internationally ranked chess player, historian, and was a black belt Judo instructor. He was known for his incredible ability to teach and preach the Word of God and for his great sense of humor. Although God called him to full time ministry, his first ministry was always to his family.
Survivors include wife, Lynda Anne Ramsey of the home; children, Eric Ramsey (Gaye) of Fort Smith, AR, Christopher Ramsey (Jennifer) of Atlanta, GA, Jason Ramsey (Lori) of Liberal, KS, Tara Khosravipour (Kim) currently living in Istanbul, Turkey, sister Linda Tayrien of Grove, OK; grandchildren, Andrew Ramsey (Kayley), Alisha Ramsey, Kaley Ramsey Saquic (Cesar), Silas Khosravipour, Craig Ramsey, Kelsey Ramsey, Nathan Ramsey, Luke Khosravipour, Lydia Khosravipour, Madeline Ramsey, Hope Khosravipour, Christian Ramsey, and close family friend, Jo Campbell. He was preceded in death by his parents and sister, Cheryl McDougal.
A memorial service will be held at 11:00 a.m., Thursday, February 8, 2018 at Connection Point Church, 10500 E. State Rte. 350, Raytown, MO. A committal service with military honors will be held at 3:00 p.m., following the memorial service at the Missouri Veterans Cemetery in Higginsville, MO. In lieu of flowers the family suggests memorial contributions be given to the Cliff Ramsey Memorial Fund or the Iranian Baptist Church of Istanbul, Turkey, checks payable to TCWM or may be left at https://app.donorview.com/1Jnb.
