Mary Vivian (McQuerry) Blackburn, 92, a resident of Blue Springs, MO passed away Saturday, January 6, 2018. She was born August 8, 1925 in Mayview, MO to Fred and Mary (Withers) McQuerry.
Mary graduated from Grain Valley High School in 1943. She always enjoyed attending the Grain Valley Alumni Banquet yearly and reminiscing with old friends. Mary was united in marriage to Robert Blackburn Sr., on May 17, 1947 in Kansas City, MO. She was in the laundry business for 55 years before her retirement in 2015. Mary owned and operated 40 & 7 Laundry in Blue Springs up until age 90. She was a member of Good Shepherd Christian Church in Blue Springs. Mary enjoyed traveling to Branson, working crossword puzzles, listening to country music, watching Hallmark movies and Dancing with the Stars.
Survivors include children, Linda Logeman of Blue Springs, MO, Jan Claypole of Grain Valley, MO, Bob Blackburn Jr. of the home, Sharon Humbird (Terry) of Sibley, MO; grandson, Jeff Davis (Kim) of Grain Valley, MO; step-granddaughter, Nichole Sims of Grain Valley, MO; great-grandsons, Kyler and Keegan Davis; step-great granddaughters, Brooke, Baylee, BriLeigh Sims. She is preceded in death by her husband, Robert Blackburn Sr.; parents; sister, Louise White; grandsons, Brent and Eric Logeman.
The family will receive friends from 1-2:00 p.m., Wednesday, January 10, 2018 at Meyers Funeral Chapel, 1600 W. Main St., Blue Springs, MO. Funeral service will start at 2:00 p.m., at the chapel. Burial will follow at the Blue Springs Cemetery. The family suggests that memorial contributions be made to Good Shepherd Christian Church or The American Diabetes Association.
