Mike was united in marriage to Anna Zimmerman on September 14, 1957 in Kansas City, MO. For over 50 years he worked as Sales Manager for Index Restaurant Supply. Mike was a parishioner at St. Cyril Parish in Sugar Creek, MO for 54 years, before moving to Blue Springs and becoming a parishioner of St. Robert Bellarmine Parish. He was a Jackson County 3430 Knights of Columbus, a 4th Degree Knight and was very involved in Sugar Creek Civic Activities. Mike was a family man who will always be remembered for being a man of his word with a great sense of humor, integrity and a hard work ethic. The loves of his life were his wife, Anna, family, church, and Index Restaurant Supply.
Survivors include wife of 60 years, Anna Guthrie of the home; daughters, Kimberly Hein of Lake Lotawana, MO, Debbie Nichols (Tubb) of Lake Lotawana, MO, Karen Morris (Randy) of Blue Springs, MO, Denise Guthrie (Mike Stewart) of Kansas City, MO; sisters, Theresa Biber of Independence, MO, Sandra Lynn of Blue Springs, MO; brother, Tom Guthrie (Dorothy) of Shawnee, KS; grandchildren, Brianna Moore (Mike), Kyle Morris (Dilon), Jaclyn Morris, Logan Hein (Katie), Tyler Hein; 4 great-grandchildren; several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents; daughter, Kathy Kuzila; sister, Judy Tadlock; son-in-law, Darrell Hein.
Rosary will be prayed at 9:30 a.m., Saturday, December 2, 2017 at St. Robert Bellarmine Parish, 4313 MO-7, Blue Springs, MO with the family receiving friends from 10-11:00 a.m., at the church. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11:00 a.m., at the church. Burial will immediately follow at Mt. Olivet Catholic Cemetery in Raytown, MO. In lieu of flowers the family suggests that memorial contributions be made to St. Robert Bellarmine Parish to benefit seminarians or Darrell Hein Eagle Scout Project Fund in care of Truman Heartland Community Foundation.
