Wayne was a proud veteran of the United States Navy, and served during the Vietnam War. He spent the majority of his working career as a civil engineer for Independence Light & Power, where he retired in 2005. He was devoted to his faith and was a member of St. Therese Parish in Kansas City North. Wayne was always looking to lend a helping hand to others. He will be dearly missed.
He married Cheryl Weipert on May 9, 1970 in Hurlingen, MO. In addition to Cheryl, survivors include two children, Neal Reynolds of Parkville, MO and Kristie Reynolds of Kansas City, MO; two brothers, Larry Reynolds (Jane) of St. Joseph, MO and Robert Keith (Dorinda) of DeVille, LA; and a grandson, Dylan Gormont. He was preceded in death by his parents and a sister, Imogene Galbraith.
The family will receive friends from 5:00-7:00 p.m. Monday, October 16, 2017 at St. Therese Catholic Church, where the Rosary will be prayed at 7:00 p.m. The Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated 10:00 a.m. Tuesday, October 17, 2017 at Seven Dolors Catholic Church with Rev. Christian Malewski presiding. A Committal service and military honors will follow in the church cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions are suggested to the Wounded Warrior Project Family Support or Crossroads Hospice.
