Richard G. Level, 89, a Northland resident of Kansas City, MO (formerly of Columbia, MO) passed away Thursday, October 5, 2017. Richard was born January 14, 1928 to Dorsey Glenn and Ada B. (Ray) Level in Harrisburg, MO.
Richard was united in marriage with Doris B. Bailey on June 19, 1948 in Columbia, MO. From this union they raised two children: Michael and Teresa.
Hobbies included: his own personal woodworking shop, where he would make whatever your heart desired: rocking horses, Christmas reindeer, quilt racks, and other craft items. Richard enjoyed raising Arabian horses and attending the county and state fairs to show them. Numerous trophies and ribbons adorned his home. Doris and Richard volunteered countless hours at Boone Hospital after retirement.
Survived by his son: Michael Level (Betty) of Gladstone, MO; daughter, Teresa Meder (Jerome) of Kansas City (North), MO; 2 granddaughters: Katlin Hawes and Elizabeth Straub; two great grandchildren: Morgan Garrison and Aaron Hawes; a sister, Lorene Muller and Aunt Mary Lou Perkins. He was preceded in death by his wife Doris and both parents.
The family will receive friends at 10:00 a.m., Saturday, October 14, 2017 at the Memorial Park Funeral Home in Columbia, MO. Funeral service will commence at 11:00 a.m. at the funeral home with interment to follow. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions are suggested to Alzheimer’s Foundation of America alzfdn.org.
