LaVerna graduated from William Chrisman High School and was very devoted to her husband and children. In her early years, she worked as a secretary for the Kansas City Board of Trade and more importantly, spent the majority of her working years as a pastor’s wife. She was a member of the Sterling Acres Baptist Church and sang in the choir. In her spare time, she enjoyed traveling, photography and exploring nature. Basil Gene Miller, 70, of Blue Springs, MO passed away August 14, 2017 from injuries sustained in an automobile accident in Blue Springs. He was born December 30, 1946 in Park Falls, WI to Vincent and Iva (Appelbee) Miller. [Read more…]
Herman Ott Drabenstott, 97, our much beloved husband, father, grandfather and brother in Christ passed away on August 12, 2017. Herman’s strong faith, gentle character and generous spirit touched the lives of many throughout his long, blessed life. He was born to Ernest and Laura (Ott) Drabenstott on their farm in Huntington County, Indiana on October 13, 1919.
An outstanding student, he received his B.S. degree in agricultural economics from Purdue University in 1941, then went on to earn an M.S. in statistics under one of the pioneers of that emerging field at Iowa State University in 1947. [Read more…]
Peter Terry Babalian, 90, of Kansas City, MO passed away on Saturday, August 12, 2017. Pierre was born in Paris, France on March 29, 1927 to Dr. Leon Babalian and Anna Furth (Terry) Babalian. When Pierre immigrated to the United States on March 29, 1938, his 12th birthday, he became Peter and a United States Citizen on November 17, 1942. Peter was a Navy veteran, his military service included a World War II Victory Medal. He served in the Navy twice from July 23, 1945 – August 13, 1946, and December 18, 1950 – August 16, 1951.
