Gary D. Gaw, 76, a Northland resident of Kansas City, MO passed away July 10, 2017, at the NorthCare Hospice House. He was born February 20, 1941 in Little Blue, MO to Robert and Sylvia (Shull) Green.
Gary graduated from Central High School and Metropolitan Community College, both in Kansas City. Following college, he worked for Hewitt & Royer Architects, a company that specialized in hospital architecture. Gary was a founding partner of Architectural Consultants in Kansas City. He was a veteran of the United States Air Force, and served during the Vietnam Era and Bay of Pigs invasion. Gary loved to travel, enjoyed scuba diving, boating and working in his yard.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a brother, Robert Terry Green. Survivors include his wife of 43 years, Doris Gaw; children: Viktoria Gaw, Greg Gaw, Chris Gaw, Brandon Gaw, Olivia Gaw, Maggie Gaw and Joe Gaw; sisters, Sandra, Sylvia and Patricia; brother, Art; 12 grandchildren; and his guard-dog, Wicket.
A memorial service celebrating Gary’s life will be held 2:30 p.m. Friday, July 14, 2017, at the Meyers Northland Chapel in Parkville. Visitation 1-2:30 p.m., prior to the service. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions are suggested to the Multiple Sclerosis Society, American Heart Association or NorthCare Hospice House.
