Carolyn Sue Woolsey, 74, of Independence, MO passed away May 11, 2017, at home surrounded by her family. She was born January 20, 1943 in Cedar City, MO to Rolen Malachi and Emma (Brown) Burks.
Carolyn spent the majority of her life working in bookkeeping and accounting. In her spare time, she enjoyed gardening, cooking and spending time with her family and her church family. Carolyn had a love for life and will be dearly missed.
She married Larry W. Woolsey, Sr. on March 19, 1960 in Kansas City, MO. In addition to Mr. Woolsey, she was preceded in death by her parents and an infant granddaughter. Survivors include her four boys: Wayne Woolsey (Cristy) of Niotaze, KS, Robert Woolsey (Lenora) of Independence, MO, Randy Woolsey of Independence, MO and Alan Woolsey (Beth) of Blue Springs, MO; three siblings: Betty Snow of Sedalia, MO, Georgia Burks of Columbia, MO and John Burks of Tuscumbia, MO; nine grandchildren, two step-grandchildren and four great grandchildren.
A funeral service celebrating Carolyn’s life will be held at 2:00 p.m. Saturday, May 13, 2017, at the Meyers Funeral Chapel in Blue Springs, MO. Burial will follow at the Blue Springs Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 1-2:00 p.m., prior to the service.
