Marion Jeannette (Jennie) Gould-Butler passed away Saturday May 6, 2017 peacefully in her home. She was born February 20, 1930 to Everard Marvin and Dorothy Sawyer in Dixon IL. While we are sad not to have her next to us, she was so excited to see heaven that we cannot grieve too much.
Jennie is survived by her sister, Helen Marie Rossow of Palm Beach, FL; her children Pamela Sue Gould of Maui HI, Thomas Dale (Elizabeth) Gould of Mombasa Kenya, Catherine Elaine (Edmund) Costello of Enid OK, Gregory Bruce Gould of Charleston SC and step-daughter Dee Dee (Phil) Shaw of Tampa FL; 4 grandchildren and 3 step-grandchildren.
She was a faithful member of the Timothy Lutheran Church in Blue Springs, MO and lived a happy, full and mostly healthy 87 years.
Our mom, Jennie, was unfailingly kind and generous and, until the end of her days, retained a fantastic memory. “What year did that happen, Mom?” “What was the name of that place again?” we would ask. Somehow she would always find the answer our younger minds couldn’t.
On the day she died she predicted that Always Dreaming would win the Kentucky Derby and was, as usual, right again.
We will all miss her smile and ever-ready laugh very, very much.
Special thanks go out to Pastor Lieb, Pastor Rich Steensma and to Susan Pieper and Laura Rodriguez of Heritage Farms for all their help.
