H.H. “Dusty” Rhoads, 87, passed away peacefully Sunday, April 30, 2017 at St. Mary’s Manor in Blue Springs, MO. He was born to Howard and Lovell (Todd) Rhoads on January 19, 1930 in Clinton, MO.
Dusty was united in marriage to Barbara Fairbanks on July 19, 1952 in Harrison, AR. He proudly served his country in the United States Army. Dusty worked in the insurance industry as a claims manager. He enjoyed golfing, fishing, and playing gin rummy at the Elks Lodge #2509 in Blue Springs, MO. Dusty was an extremely devoted husband and family man. He also enjoyed spending time with his friends.
Survivors include wife, Barbara Rhoads of Blue Springs, MO; children, Jan Crouch (Robin) of Warrensburg, MO, Sandra Schoultz of Lake Tapawingo, MO, Scott Rhoads of Black Hawk, CO; grandchildren, Kyra Tracy (Eric) of Carrollton, MO, Scotty Rhoads of Houston, TX, Jennifer Rhoads of Houston, TX, Ron Schoultz (Amanda) of Blue Springs, MO; 6 great-grandchildren; sister, Pamela Mitchell of Clinton, MO; brother, Robert Rhoads of Clinton, MO; several nieces and nephews. He is preceded in death by his parents, Howard and Lovell Rhoads; brothers Jim and Ray Rhoads.
The family will receive friends from 1-1:30 p.m., Thursday, May 4, 2017 at the Elks Lodge #2509, 100 N.E. Brizendine Rd, Blue Springs, MO. Memorial service will start at 1:30 p.m. Following the memorial service a celebration of Dusty’s life will be held until 4:00 p.m., at the Lodge. Memorial contributions are suggested to the Alzheimer’s Association and Crossroads Hospice.
