Linda was born on October 10, 1949 in Independence, MO to Earnest E. and Mary Lou Short. She graduated from Van Horn High School.
A loving daughter, mother, sister and caregiver to many, Linda spent countless hours caring for those close to her. She was not only a mother and Angel to her son, Jimmy, but to so many more. In her spare time she enjoyed cooking, gardening, going to garage sales, spending time with her grandchildren and listening to country music. Linda’s caring, giving and generous spirit will live on forever.
Survivors include her mother, Mary Lou DeVoy of Kansas City, MO; children, Lindsay Villagran (Matthew) of Kansas City, MO, Angela Rachelle Nading of Kansas City, MO and Rodney Nading (Trina) of St. Joseph, MO; siblings, Debbie Newton of Independence, MO, Earnest Short of Kansas City, MO, George Short of Kansas City, MO, Carl Short of Kansas City, MO, Kimberly Lewis of Kansas City, MO, Michael Short of Chillicothe, MO and Ben Alcantor of Kansas City, MO; and 12 beloved grandchildren, Tyler, Tori, Brittany, Deven, Jonah, Cain, Bryson, Brenden, Brannan, Nicholas, Breena, Brody and Carmelo. She was preceded in death by her father; a son, James Alan Nading; and three siblings, Jimmy Short, John Short and Chuck Griffey.
A memorial service celebrating Linda’s life will be held 3:00 p.m. Wednesday, April 19, 2017, at the Meyers Northland Chapel in Parkville. Visitation will be held 2-3:00 p.m., prior to the service. Memorial contributions are suggested to the National Pancreatic Cancer Foundation. The Meyers Northland Chapel in Parkville has been entrusted with Linda’s final care.
