Jo Ann Gundersen, 76, a resident of Parkville, passed away on February 2, 2017 at St. Luke’s Hospice House after a courageous battle with cancer. Jo was born on August 11, 1940 to John and Frances Hendricks in Omaha, Nebraska.
She was a long-time member of the Johnson County Young Matrons and the Living Water Christian Church in Parkville.
She is survived by her loving husband, Alfred Gundersen and her four children: Susan Allan (Jim), Barbara Stein (Tony), Dave Gundersen (Valerie) and Doug Gundersen (Tonya). As well as, 12 grandchildren, one great-grandson and her sister, Marion Jorgesen of Omaha, Nebraska.
She will be greatly missed by her family, who will remember her joyful heart and “big, beautiful, blue eyes.” Jo lived her life with grace, resilience and love.
A memorial service celebrating her life will be held on February 4, 2017 at 1pm at the Meyers Northland Chapel in Parkville. Prior to the service, the family will receive friends at 12pm.
