Nancy L. “Ebert” Hutchison, 70, of Blue Springs, MO passed away Sunday, February 26, 2017. She was born May 31, 1946 in Kansas City, MO to Fred and Mary (Albauer) Ebert.
Nancy was united in marriage to John Hutchison II on May 22, 1965 in Kansas City, MO. She was Catholic by faith. Nancy worked as a clerk at GEHA an insurance company in Independence, MO. Clifford Caryl Caton, known to most by Caryl, was born November 14, 1928 to Clifford Claude and Virginia Caton. He grew up in the Blackwater and Boonville Mo area, graduating from Blackwater, Mo in 1946. Following graduation he moved to Kansas City to work construction as a heavy equipment operator.
Caryl married the love of his life on Dec 21 950. They were married for 46 years. After a successful career in sales with Shick, Owens Plastics and Borg Warner, Carol and Caryl opened a company that manufactured furniture in 1976. They operated Blue Springs Furniture until Carol’s death in 1997. Caryl has always loved trucks. Terri Lynn Mullenix-Novak, 56, of Blue Springs, MO passed away after a lengthy illness on February 24, 2017 in Lee’s Summit, MO. She was born January 22, 1961 in Lawton, OK to Eldon and Jan (Williams) Mullenix.
Terri graduated high school in Fairview, OK, earned her BA in Business Administration from Northwest Oklahoma State University. She spent the majority of her career as customer service representative for the IRS. [Read more…]
Bettie June (Stephens) Mayfield, 88, of Independence, MO, formerly of Blue Springs, passed away peacefully on Feb. 24 at Rosewood Health and Rehab Center at The Groves, where she resided since Oct. 2012.
Bettie was born on June 24, 1928, the second of twelve children of Meredith Bryant Stephens and Oren Stephens. She was united in marriage to Charles E. Mayfield, who preceded her in death on March 22, 1996, on August 3, 1947, in Independence, MO. In 1958, the Mayfields moved to Blue Springs to open Mayfield Funeral Home (currently Meyers Funeral Chapel) at 16th & Main Streets, and served the community as co-owners and operators until retirement in 1976. Bettie enjoyed playing cards, maintaining flower gardens, participating in Blue Springs Pilot Club activities, and watching sporting and other events involving her family. [Read more…]
