Arch “Bruce” Cole, 89, took his peaceful journey to Heaven on January 28, 2017, at the Missouri Veteran’s Home in Cameron, MO. He was born January 30, 1927 in McDonald, KS to Arch Bert and Electa (Blakely) Cole.
Bruce was a veteran of the United States Army and served during WWII, earning the rank of Sergent. He graduated from Kansas State University “ Every Man a Wildcat” where he earned a BS in Business Administration. He retired from the United States Government, where he worked as an auditor for the majority of his career.
Bruce married his wife of 66 years, Barbara Anne Bamford on May 29, 1951 in Manhattan, KS. In addition to Mrs. Cole, survivors include a son, Ted Cole (Sue) of Belton, MO; a daughter, Terra Howard of Overland Park, KS; a brother, John Cole of Colorado; granddaughters, Jennifer Carroll (Andy), Amanda Ferguson (Adam); great grandchildren, Matt Ferguson, Nate Carroll, Kylie Ferguson and Will Carroll; and several nieces and nephews.
A memorial service will be held 11:00 a.m. Tuesday, January 31, 2017, at the Park Hill Baptist Church, Rev. Dave Overman officiating. Visitation from 10-11:00 a.m., prior to the service. A private committal service with military honors will be held later this spring at the Leavenworth National Cemetery. Memorial contributions are suggested to the Children’s Ministry at Park Hill Baptist Church. The Meyers Northland Chapel in Parkville has been entrusted with the cremation arrangements.
