Donna Jean Parker, 84, of Independence, MO passed away August 26, 2016 at the St. Mary’s Medical Center in Blue Springs. She was born April 8, 1932 in Kansas City, MO to Clifford E. and Edith L. (Rosewall) Weakley.
Donna worked as an electronic assembler but spent the majority of her life as a devoted housewife and mother. She loved her cats and spending time with her family and her Burger King buddies.
She married Vernon “Ted” Parker on October 8, 1955 in Blue Springs. In addition to Ted, she was preceded in death by her parents and a brother, Clifford Leon Weakley And a great grandson, Max Banks. Survivors include three children, Mike Parker (Denise), Patricia Sue Parker Lamb and Lori Ann Parker; two sisters, Janice Markwell and Kathy Hughes; three grandchildren, Lindsey, Nick and Casey; and four great grandchildren.
A funeral service celebrating Donna’s life will be held 11:30 a.m. Wednesday, August 31, 2016 at the First United Methodist Church of Blue Springs with Rev. Dr. Sally Haynes presiding. Burial will follow at Blue Springs Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 10:30-11:30 a.m., prior to the service. Memorial contributions are suggested to the church.
