Paul Phillip Cacioppo, 76, Parkville, MO passed away April 23, 2016. He was born November 28, 1939 in Kansas City, MO to Paul and Marie (Paladino) Cacioppo.
Paul was an accomplished musician, piano player, composer, poet and writer. He was well read, well educated, and above all, loved and respected by all who knew him.
Paul married Betsy O’Hara on June 15, 1963 in Prairie Village, KS. In addition to Betsy, survivors include his mother, Marie; two sons, Christopher Cacioppo and David Cacioppo (Hayley); a sister, Elaine Keling; a brother, Michael Cacioppo; five grandchildren, Mira, Kira, Parker, Calen and Cooper.
Mr. Cacioppo received a B.A. in English (1961), an M.A. in Political Science (1965), and Juris Doctor (1965) from the University of Kansas. He later received a M.A. in Political Science/Public Administration (1975) from Stanford University. Mr. Cacioppo worked as a lawyer for over 50 years. During that time he served on the Board of Directors of the American Health Lawyers Association and was listed in Best Lawyers in America and Who’s Who in American Law. He served as Chief Council for the Department of Health and Human Services and the Department of Health, Education and Welfare. Mr. Cacioppo was employed with Stinson, Mag and Fizzell for a number of years.
The family will receive friends from 10:00 a.m. – 12:00 p.m. Saturday, April 30, 2016, at the Meyers Northland Chapel in Parkville. Burial will follow at the Mt. Moriah Cemetery. A celebration of his life will also be held later this spring. Memorial contributions are suggested to the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society.
