Kathryn Marie Kruse, 65, a Northland resident of Kansas City, MO passed away January 30, 2016, at the NorthCare Hospice House. She was born on February 22, 1950 in Golden Valley, MN to Gilman and Helen (Solie) Storlie.
Kate was an educator and held several different college degrees. She spent the majority of her career as a Reading Specialist in the Grandview, MO Public School System, where she taught reading to high school juniors and seniors. Education was her passion. Kate was a veteran of the United States Marine Corps, and was proud to have served her country.
She married Dale Len Kruse on August 7, 1982 in Overland Park, KS. In addition to Dale, survivors include a son, Anthony “Tony” Kruse of Seattle, WA; a sister, Carolyn Storlie of Spring Grove, MN; a brother, Lyle Storlie of Sebring, FL and four grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents and a brother, David Storlie.
A committal service with military honors will be held later this spring at Leavenworth National Cemetery 150 Muncie Road Leavenworth, KS. Memorial contributions may be made to Honor and Valor Foundation at www.honorandvalorfoundation.org, also known as Quilts of Honor and Quilts of Valor.
