Joyce E. Gilbreath, 86, of Raymore, MO passed away Sunday, February 24, 2013 at her home. Funeral services for Joyce will be 3:00 pm, Saturday, March 2, 2013 at St. Paul’s United Methodist Church, 1111 W. Foxwood Drive, Raymore, MO. Visitation will 1 – 2:30 at the Church prior to the service. Joyce was born January 7, 1927 in Houston, TX to Dorus Trew and Elsie Rhea (Boggs) Macy. On September 10, 1950 she was united in marriage to Byron Gilbreath and he survives of the home. She was the Church secretary and also secretary to Chamber of Commerce. She was a member of St. Paul’s United Methodist Church where she was quite active, and also in the churches that her husband pastored over the years. She developed a program for the Chamber of Commerce of Belton in 1974. Joyce was a Conference officer and Chairman of the Spiritual Life Committee for four years. She was preceded in death by her parents, a brother, Marvin Macy, and a sister, Marian Fields.
In addition to her husband, Byron, she is survived by her son, Dale Gilbreath and wife Robin of Lee’s Summit, MO; daughter Carol Watts and husband Gary of San Diego, CA; and 5 grandchildren, McKenzie, Macy, and Nathan Gilbreath; Aaron Aikin and wife Danielle, and Joy Aikin.
